MTFL - About the MTFL

The Mississauga Touch Football League (MTFL) was established in 1972 and is a non-profit organization, operated by an Executive Committee of volunteers who are voted in by its League Membership.

The MTFL remains one of Ontario’s most active and competitive adult men’s touch football leagues that prides itself in its members for being a well-run organization. We are home to many Canadian Touch Football National Championship teams and in addition to league play, some of our teams also compete in the Trillium Tour Tournaments in order to qualify for Provincial and National Championship ranking.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS

John Schiebel
Longtime Executive Committee Member, primarily invloved as Player Registar. | (2009) Took on the role as League President, while retaining responsibility of Player Registar. Coordinated the first 'MTFL Night' with the Toronto Argonauts Football Club held on Friday, September 11.

Current member of Showtime, former member Ghosts and Steelers, also officiates games through the MOA

Bill Chan
(2004) Became an Executive Committee Member. | (2005) Took on the role of Web Site Administrator, credited with redesigning the League Web Site and adding functionality, ease of navigation and historical archives. | (2006) Proposed an up front, one-time payment of League Annual Fee, prior to the start of the season. Introduced a new League Logo, took on the responsibility of Division Championship Prizing, developed the MTFL Friendly as a means to promote a social aspect and sportsmanship among the players in the League. | (2008) Took on responsibility of Marketing & Community Partnership, along with League Discipline. | (2009), Took on role of Finances, proposed tripler-header game scheduling at the Mississauga Valleys football field. | (2010) Commissioned construction of new League Division Championship Trophy, organized the year-end social at Boston Pizza Square One.

Current captain of Arrows (2009-2010), former captain of Thunder (2005-2006), former member of Vipers (2004).

Jeff Ingram
(2007) Became an Executive Committee Member. | (2008) Took on responsibility of Field Procurement. | (2009) Took on responsibility of Scheduling & Divisonal Alignment.

Current member of Trailer Park Boyz (2006-2009).

Glenn Stevenson
(2008) Became an Executive Committee Member. | (2009) Took on responsibility of League Displine. | (2011) Took on role of MOA Liaison.

Current captain of Ghosts.

Geoff Johnson
(2010) Proposed the MTFL work with TFO to host a Trillium Tournament Event. | (2011) Elected as a member of the Executive Committee, given role of Division Representative, resigned from Executive Committee.

Tom Mulford
Longtime Executive Member primarily responsible for Scheduling & Divisional Alignment. | (2006) Became League President, while retaining responsibility of Scheduling & Divisional Alignment. | (2009) Resigned from Executive Committee.

Formerly member of Gamecocks-Enforcers.

Bob Davidson
Longtime Executive Member primarily responsible for Field Procurement and Division Championship Prizing. (2006) Resigned from Executive Committee.

Current a member of Showtime (formerly Razorbacks).

Dave Beatty
Longtime Executive Member and former League President, most notable achievement was operating the League for most of it's existence. (2005) Resigned from Executive Committee.

Fred Vickers
Former League President.

WEB HISTORY:
The MTFL web site was launched sometime in the early part of the decade (2000s). It was initiated as a means to communicate with teams in the MTFL. In early 2006, the web site was reconstructed to the format being used today.
